AdBlue Solutions
AdBlue is a fluid which is used in diesel vehicles, and its purpose is to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. AdBlue is made up of 32.5% high-purity urea and then 67.5% deionized water. With strict emission standards, especially Euro 6 regulations, most modern vehicles are fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. When the SCR systems fail, it can be a costly fix - this is where we come in.

AdBlue is actually the registered trademark name for Diesel Exhaust Fluid, or DEF. Its exactly what it says on the tin - a fluid which is targeting a diesel vehicle exhaust. AdBlue became prominent in the early 2000's, at this time the EU was introducing stricter emission regulations (Euro 4 & 5). The fluid is a solution of urea and deionized water which is injected into the exhaust system which the reacts with the nitrogen oxide and forms a harmless vapour which is released into the atmosphere.
What is a AdBlue (SCR)?

Like most technology, SCR systems experience faults and become a real nightmare. Common issues with SCR are contamination, clogged injectors, pump failures, sensor malfunctions or just overall lack of engine performance - repairing these issues can be costly, and prices vary from a few hundred to a few thousand!
Faulty AdBlue System?

If you run out of AdBlue, or you have SCR related issues, your vehicle will start by alerting you with an Engine Management Light - it its crucial you check the AdBlue levels in the first instance, or contacting a specialist, such as Intelli Tune. Leaving the issue unattended will only make matters worse, eventually the vehicle will go into limp mode, before finally refusing to start.
What happens when AdBlue faults appear?

If you are experiencing issues with your AdBlue, we will start by carrying out some initial test; we look for contamination in the tank, and for a build up of crystals - AdBlue which has dried can ultimately clog up the injectors. We will then scan the vehicle using our dealer lever Diagnostic tools and see what Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) are visible. We will also carry out Live-Data Logging, which means we can see in real time NOx sensor readings, pressures & temperatures.
AdBlue Diagnostics
We cover all platforms
Here's a just a few..

SCR technology can be complex, and requires thorough diagnostics, the expenses involved in replacing SCR systems are heavy, which is why we have invested in dealer level diagnostic equipment, such as Autel - to make sure we're confident in finding, and resolving your problems.
We have the tools for the job

AdBlue Software Solutions
For off-road vehicles, we can offer AdBlue removal services, which has clear advantages - fewer components to replace, which results in cost-saving and less maintenance. Eliminating the need for AdBlue fluid will ultimately save you money. Removing the AdBlue from the software also eliminates the potential for the vehicle to enter a limp mode, keeping it running smoothly.
While there are clear advantages to an AdBlue delete, it’s important to note that this modification may result in non-compliance with emissions regulations in the UK. Always ensure you understand the legal and environmental implications before proceeding.
