Why Performance Tuning?
Increased Power & Torque
By recalibrating the software within your ECU, we help unlock hidden performance and torque reserves, making your engine more responsive and capable of tackling challenging tasks or terrain.
Enhanced Fuel Efficiency
It’s not just about speed—smart performance tuning can optimize fuel consumption by fine-tuning air-fuel ratios and ignition timing, helping you save money over the long term.
Smoother Throttle Response
A well-tuned engine reacts more precisely to your throttle input, enabling a smooth, controlled drive that’s perfect for both everyday use and spirited motoring.
Customized Driving Experience
No two drivers or machinery operators are alike. We tailor each tune to suit your specific needs—whether that’s improved towing capability for farm equipment or peak performance for a sports car.
Serving Bristol, Bath, and Beyond

Our Performance Tuning Process
Initial Consultation
We discuss your goals—whether that’s raw horsepower gains, better fuel economy, or a balance of both. This helps us customize an approach that best suits your vehicle or machinery.
ECU Diagnostics & Data Logging
Using advanced equipment, we read and analyze your ECU’s existing parameters, identifying areas where performance can be safely enhanced.
Custom Remap
We fine-tune the ECU software to adjust boost pressures (if applicable), ignition timing, and fuel delivery for optimized performance. Our top priority is striking the right balance between power, efficiency, and engine longevity.
Testing & Validation
After the new map is applied, we run tests to confirm the desired improvements in power, torque, and overall drivability have been met. We also monitor for potential error codes or issues, ensuring your vehicle or machinery remains reliable.
Aftercare & Support
We stand by our work with comprehensive aftercare, including support for any questions and potential adjustments. Your satisfaction and peace of mind are our highest priorities.

-
Removal of Engine Parts for RemappingNo removal of engine components is required. The ECU remapping process is entirely non-invasive; we simply connect our remapping equipment to your vehicle's ECU to replace the existing settings with new configurations.
-
Reverting to Original Factory SettingsWe keep a backup of your ECU settings, so it’s super easy to switch from the modified software back to the original.
-
Detection of ECU Remapping by DealershipsIn most cases, dealerships will not be able to detect that an ECU remap has been performed. However, if you have concerns, you can get in touch, and we will restore your original settings from the backup we created.
-
How Long Does It Take?It usually takes up to two hours, but it can vary depending on the type of engine and the manufacturer. The great thing is, it’s a non-invasive process!
-
Manufacturer’s Software Updates and ECU RemappingIf your vehicle requires a manufacturer's software update, the new software will overwrite the modified software we have performed. If you wish to have the software reinstalled, please get in contact.
-
If I Get a Remap, Will I Lose My Driving Modes? No. Your driving modes like ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT/DYNAMIC will remain intact. The ECU stays the same, so you’ll get more power in all modes without losing their unique features.
-
Why Don’t Manufacturers Do It?Manufacturers usually make one vehicle that has to work in all sorts of markets. They have to consider various factors, such as tax rules, emissions standards, fuel types, and weather conditions, which often result in performance compromises.
-
Impact of Remapping on Engine StressWe approach our work with careful consideration and do not carry out remapping on vehicles that are not suitable. Prior to any remapping work, we conduct a comprehensive diagnostic health check.
-
Is Remapping Beneficial for Smaller City Cars?Absolutely. It can enhance the performance of a wide variety of vehicles, ranging from compact city cars to tractors.
-
What Are Pop & Bangs? And Are They Dangerous? If done correctly, they’re totally safe. However, if pushed too far, they can damage parts like valves, the exhaust system, or even the turbo. That’s why it’s crucial to choose experts like Intelli Tune for controlled tuning.
-
Notification to Insurance Company Regarding ECU RemappingInform your insurance company about the ECU remap, as it is a modification to the vehicle.
-
What Warranty Do You Give?Every Intelli Tune remap comes with a lifetime warranty against software issues. If anything goes wrong with the installation, we’ll fix it for free.
